EARTHQUAKE🌎💥

 Hey everyone,

I know you were all wondering if I survived the Earthquake here in Thailand. There was a earthquake with a 7.7 epicenter in Miyamar (Burma) this last friday and we definitely felt it here in Thailand. Yess I was lucky enough not to be near the massive building that fell. That was basically the main damage here in bangkok. There was a massive skyscraper that was being built that fell from it.

My experience, basically, we were next to these 2 big apartment buildings and we were calling referrals out on these benches and I'm sitting there. While elder bridge calls a referral and I'm like whoa, it feels like I'm drunk or something right now, like my soda must have been spiked. Or something and I totally thought it was just like my mind is playing tricks on me, but then he gets off the phone and he's like you know, you feel that and I was like yeah, that was crazy and then a bunch of people start rushing him out of the apartment building next to us. Dang, that was an earthquake that was wild.
Yea so pretty crazy stuff going on here in thailand. I think pretty much the whole country was hit so we basically talk about with anyone.
Other things from this week, we had a lot of refferals calls to do. Luckily we've got through most of them and have a list of people to send book of mormons to in the mail. Sometime this week we'll have to pack them over to the post office and send them out.
Also on Friday we were going to send out the BOMs but then we met this pregnant Thai lady that wanted to come pray at the church. Basically to summarize her story, her husband was African. His visa expired, they went to renew it and Thailand wasn't willing to let him renew it. So then he told her to go to our church which he went to once like months ago i guess. She had no phone, 100 baht, and they're actually not from Bangkok so she's not familiar with the area at all. Soooo we ended up helping her get back home to her province but that was an adventure.
Oh and to quickly explain some of the other stuff we did. Randomly this week during finding this week we got the chance to play basketball. Shoutout to Peters mom for buying them KFC and getting us water.
Another thing, also happened on friday. We got Shabu with the Boyzzzz, it was litttt. Gotta go with Mark from English class, December, and Banana!!!
That pretty much sums up my week.
I'm super excited for conference this week and i think this is easily the most excited I've ever been for conference.
I challenge everyone to try and listen to a session of conference on Saturday or Sunday. Definitely a positive message to uplift your week👍

🔥สลับคู่🔥

 Whats uppp,

This week has been crazy. We've been super busy which has been great but also a lil crazy.
Biggest news, BAPTISM
This last Sunday an Investigator that the AP's were teaching last transfer got baptized. She was already taught everything and we've just visited her while she was sick and waiting until she feels better. This last week she felt good enough to be able to be baptized wooooo.
And then to summarize this week, the beginning of the week found out that this transfer will actually be longer than the next transfer, so this transfer will be 7 weeks and then the next transfer will be 5 weeks because of the holiday in April so that will be super fun. Also a little long though. So we'll see how that goes..
This week was filled with meetings with our new members. Our new members are members that are baptized in the last year. We had a lot of appointments with new members this last week and a lot of thsm came to church.
Funniest thing this week was our companion exchange. We switched calm's Friday and I got a switch with our DL elder pentilla. He's amazing. We went over there Thursday night and then stayed Friday. Did our studies in the morning and then we split off for the day? We talked up bunch of lessons. So I gotta see a lot of other members and investigators. We taught 3 different lessons and then we went to a place for lunch where one of their investigators is at and we gotta talk to them, so that's great, and then we gotta end off a sports night, which was so fun.  Basically, they have a freaking full on basketball court. It's so nice. It's just and they don't have a ton of people, but they have more than we get on sports night so it was super fun and they got a bunch of little kids that showed app and then we just got a ball. I got to ball with these Chinese kids. They're like 18, so they're not like kids. But they've lived intirely in their whole life. But they only speak Chinese and english and one there english is better then the other but his english was so good. It was a little bit easier like talking with someone from America. So that was fun, especially so yeah, we just gotta play basketball with them they're really good and yeah, that was so fun. Exchanges are the best.
Luckily, this is the first sports night that our ward has had in months because I wanted to try and start doing it and we were able to have enough people to do 3 on 3 basketball and a few other people showed up too. So we'll see if we can get this. Many people every week I hope that we can because I'd love to keep doing it, but it'll be hard but I'd love to have a lot of people at sports.

Last thing, I talked last week about the crazy amount of yellow dots we have but its actually insane. This last week we've had an english post that we made on our English Class Page and ws've gotten a ton if people that contacted us and are interested in learning so hopefully english class will be popping.

I love you all and I hope your all doing amazing

97!!!!!

 Sawadikrap everyone,

This weeks been a fire, we have a ton of contacts and refferals so we've just been trying to contact as many of them as we can and still keep meeting with our current investigators.
To explain the 97 number. We have 97 yellow dots, which means people that are interested in learning but haven't necessarily progressed. We haven't given them any commitments. But either they reached out in Facebook through our ADS. And they're interested in learning or we met them in person and have them down as a dot and since we got all the AP dots we have a ton. Basically, we already had a ton of referrals before and then this.  Past week, we had 1 day where we got 8 referrals in 1 day from Facebook. And then the next day we got 3 and then the next weekend we got 6 referrals on 1 day and then 6 on the next day and then we still had a bunch of dots from before, so now we're just at 97 yellow dots plus like 7 referrals to call still so yeah. We have a ton of work.
Cool thing that happened last week. .Last P Day we wanted to play basketball so we went and found this basketball court Over by these apartments where a lot of people play and we played with this African guy. He's from Africa can't speak Thai. Just speak english, but he's Christian and he's super nice and willing to come to english class wants to come to our church. So he came up the next day. Came to english class. We gave him a book of mormon. He has another church that he goes to that. He has commitments at but were hoping one of these next Sundays he'll be able to show up. He's super great and it was super fun. Because we found a fire basketball to play at. Soo yea pretty sick.

This marks my third Sunday in Bangkok, which is also crazy. We just heard that our transfers are gonna be shorter. This transfer because of the holiday here where they go crazy so we have already At half way through transfers already basically, which is so crazy. So hopefully we can get us some good work and before end of transfers, which we're already halfway through transfers. Itll lowk be rough next transfer though because our next transfer is gonna be 7 weeks.
Overall,
Bangkok is pretttyy sick. The wards great and the members are super nice. Hopefully I'll know how to get around a lil better by end of transfer because i still got no idea how all the buses and everything work.

Spiritual thought🔥🔥🔥

Scripture I liked this week was
Mormon 9:31
31 Condemn me not because of mine imperfection, neither my father, because of his imperfection, neither them who have written before him; but rather give thanks unto God that he hath made manifest unto you our imperfections, that ye may learn to be more wise than we have been.
Definitely feel a lil bit like mormon in the mission field. Basically saying not to condemn them for not being perfect and hopefully since we can see their mistakes we'll be able to learn. I'm definitely not perfect so hopefully at least everyone will be able to learn from my mistakes and be more wise than I have been.

Love you all, hope you have the bestest week

First week: Zone Conference

 Woooo fire week

Started off the week, strong with zone conference pretty fun. Gotta play a decent amount of basketball and Then we also gotta watch a movie. So that was cool. It was about 1/2 of Cars.
Beginning of the week started out great. I've just been meeting a lot of people. So we've been busy when going around meeting. New members and investigators super chill trying to remember everyone's name. That's kind of hard but overall super great got tons of work. We had english class Tuesday night and we had a pretty good turn out. We had about 5 or 4 people show up so has great super. Nice english classes fun.
And then yeah, it was already his own conference. So that was crazy, but basically Thursday was our P Day and for p. Day I already said we played basketball and watched a movie. And then after 6 o'clock, we did a finding activity. And we did splits with other companions. And I got the zone meter. So this is 2 in a row so far. We'll see how long I'd keep the streak. But I got paired with Elder Hellewell. It went great though he already had set plan. So we went on a song tail immediately. Starting talking with this person that was interested in learning with us like elder Hellewell, just asked them. Oh, are you interested in learning about Jesus Christ like I can't even remember how we started the conversation and they responded like. Yes, I am and I was like what no one says that here. So that was cool. Apparently their girlfriend is Christian too. Sounds like they might be able to teach them. That would be super cool. And then we're walking down this neighborhood to go meet with another one of our friends and this guy starts talking with us and you're so interested like you know what we're doing and everything invites us in his house. So it's not what I'm talking about, Alice. Search someone's battle, you know how I want to learn english and stuff. You're a decent english and then he shows us his guns. I saw guns for the first time in Thailand it was crazy. He just wipped out. He's got this gun at his house and then he's like. Oh, at my other house. I got like 3 more.  And they start showing us his fishing textures and stuff. He's crazy but super cool super. Nice want to get dinner with the elders again or somethin.  so zone leaders will probably got to do that sometime, but the finding activity was great  P.S. guns are like super hard to have in Thailand so the fact that he has guns legally is like crazy.

But yeah, that's the most exciting stuff from my week. Shout out to Banana. He's a Thai member That I met in sakon nakhon but he's moved to Bangkok. So I just see him here now too. But he got his mission call this last week and he's going to Africa that Africa Duran mission and apparently he's the first thai person to get called to Africa. So not a 100% sure if that's true but super sick.
Today was our pday super fun. I gotta have this ramen for lunch. Oh my gosh, it is the best ramen I've ever had. It was so good. We are definitely going back there again. And then we went and did some basketball finding later at night. So successful, we met this guy. That's absolutely great. He's here teaching english. He's from Uganda, he's Christian, so hopefully we'll get to see him a lot this week. But he seems amazing super nice and yeah, that's basically my week.

Hope everyone had a great week. Sorry, this email is kind of boring. I'm doing this super late and I'm voice recording it. So, if there's any grammar mistakes, it is because of the stupid voicing, not because of me.

Funny thing that happened this week. Actually not funny at all, but my stupid phone was trying to unlock itself in my pocket like 25 freaking times or something. So it's factory reset an. Di lost a ton of stuff honestly. I'm actually not that much. Because my mission account saved a lot of stuff. But super annoying, and that happened yesterday, so yeah.Funny thing that happened this week. Actually not funny at all, but my stupid phone was trying to unlock itself in my pocket like 25 freaking times or something. So it's factory reset and lost a ton of stuff . honestly actually not that much Because my mission account saved a lot of stuff. But super annoying, and that happened yesterday, so yep.
Love u all

Greenie days are over

 Whatss up,

Been like a week and a half now since I've had P-day. This has been a crazy last week.
For everyone who just reads my first paragraph.
Transfer News, I'm MOVING. We got our transfer board this last tuesday and I'm heading to Bangkok, Bangkapi. Its about Bangkok as you can get so I'm going from the outskirts of Thailand right back to heart.
I'll run through the last week leading up to transfers right now.
Sooo last Tuesday i had to head to Bangkok for my visa work. Basically its what i have to do to extend my visa for a year. Luckily i didn't get deported, wooooo. It was great tho cuz i got to see all the east missionaries from the MTC and basically just sit around for a few hours and talk. It was fire too cuz we figured we'd all most likely be back for transfers so we get to see each other this week. Only sucky part was heading back. We left sakon nakhon tuesday night at 6 p.m. to arrive in Bangkok at 4 a.m. Then we left 10 p.m. wednesday night to get to Sakon nakhon at like 6-6:30 in the morning, ready to start the day hahah. It honestly made like the week feel like a time skip tho cuz we missed english class, missed all of wednesday and then thursday and fridays already the end of the week.
Sunday was great thoo. We've been telling everyone how it will prolly be my last Sunday so 3 of our friends from English class came. I still dont think they're super interested in the gospel but they came to church 🥰
Sunday night was our last dinner at sister จิน's. She has us over for dinner like every Sunday and its always Firree.
Then we had sunday Devo, elder Watts and sister Watts gave theyre departing devotionals. And then, BOOM, president and sister ganyaphan drop the bombshell that we will be going directly to our areas if were moving. Our transfer meeting will be held in zoom and only the fresh greenies and trainers will go through the temple. 😭😭
Super sad cuz I won't get to meet up with all the other missionaries. They won't us to keep momentum tho so we'll see how it goes.  Then Monday sister ตุน took us to pizza company. The pizza was so good. Only problem was it was a lil too good haha. I may have eaten a lil too much and totally threw up my last 2 or 3 slices back on to the plate.
Don't even worry tho, I just ate some ice cream and i felt a lot better.
Tuesday was the awaited day. We had in person district council.
My guesses for what was gonna happen:
Elder Gibson would leave Nong Kai and Elder Lowry would stay.
Elder Saunders would leave Sakon Nakhon and Elder Tupou would stay.
I would leave and Elder Tamayao would leave.
Only one i got right was myself hahah. Elder Gibsons staying in Nongkai, staying as DL, and training a fresh greenie. Keep in mind he's only two transfers ahead of me and this is transfer 4 in Nong Kai. Elder Lowry got moved to Khon Kaen. Thennnnn Elder Saunders and Elder Tupou both stayed. To be honest this was the last thing i thought was gonna happen and i def didnt think id be the only one leaving Sakon Nakhon.
Basically what i learned,
Nothing is guaranteed at transfers and theres no way u can guess whats gonna happen.

Sakon Nakhon has been such a nice place to start as a missionary. I hear about how my sister had to start with like 5 people in her ward and I'm so glad I had a bunch members and friends help me get used to Thailand. The Sakon Nakhon branch has been so kind to me and hopefully i'll get to come back at some point. I've been so lucky to have a bunch of great members and dope investigstors 😘

Spiritual Thought
1 Nephi 3
5 And now, behold thy brothers murmur, saying it is a hard thing which I have required of them; but behold I have not required it of them, but it is a commandment of the Lord.
6 Therefore go, my son, and thou shalt be favored of the Lord, because thou hast not murmured.
Lowk mission kinda hard. Surprise, surprise i know. It does have its challenges but I know like this scripture says we'll be favored of the lord when we dont complain. I feel like my Dad and this one but Positive Mindsets are a thing and totally help a ton.
Thats why I'm positively sure im gonna be absolutely lost in Bangkok hahah. Fkr real tho, i really like this scripture and even if we struggle to have a good attitude, when we press forwars with faith the lord will bless us.

Alirght thatss all i got. Love u all, thank you everyone who sends emails. You know who u are, even if i dont (jkjk I read all the emails and im so grateful, i try and respond to everyone).

Haircut🔥🔥

 Hey everyone

Dont gotta lot of time this week so its gonna be really short with a few photos. Basically we had in-person district council this week and we had a valentines day activity on the friday. It was a pretty good week. I got a haircut today from a member for free. Its short and idk how i feel about it but it'll be nice for hot season for sure. I might need to get it trimmed up a bit again tho in a week or two.
Next weeks transfers tho so i won't have one of these next monday. It might not be until the monday after that i have time to send one so try and have a good week without one of my emails 😘
Crazy that i'm finishing my second transfer in the field. I'm def not ready to not be a greenie anymore. I'll probably be moving but we'll see, never know until transfers. Ill know next tuesday so ill give a lil thing for sure next thursday saying if i moved or not. If i do move tho i wont know where im going til friday.
Love u all, thank u so much if u sent me emails. I mean to respond to them but i didnt quite have time this P-day
Have a great week🤗

การประชุมโซน

 Whats up

This week was zone conference. Soooo fun. Thats what the การประชุมโซน translates to. We had zone pday last thursday tho so i didnt have a chance to right an email.
First wanted to shout out my friends Cole and Jack. They both just got their mission calls in month. Jack's going to Washington, Vancouver and Cole's going to frickin Japan, Fukoku. I love Thailand, but Japan is the dream call so super happy for him. He's def gonna have to take me there after the mish ans be my translator haha. Both of them will do great tho and i can't wait tk see their mission experiences.
Now for my week
Zone conference was sooo lit. Thursday was zone pday so we went down to Udon. After a lil bit of studies we got to play a bunch of basketball. And had pizza for lunch in between. After lunch we got to play more basketball and do a lil chair soccer which was fun. I'd never played it before but its 100percent better than normal soccer.
Then at 6 we got the chance to do finding with a temporary companion. And booom i got to do exchanges with the one of the zl's. They must know i need extra help or something haha. I got to go with Elder Rassavong, he's super wise cuz he's only got 2 transfers left haha. I learned a lot tho and we got to talk to a few people who were interested. And then to finish off the dsy we got Mcdonalds😋😋 Its pretty similar to Mcdonals in america but it tastes a lot better when i havent had a burger in a while. After that we grabbed ice cream cones to go but then Elder Rassavong remembered that we were eating sundaes at the chudch soo double ice cream🍦🍦
Next day was zone conference and it was nice seeing what a typical zone conference is like, last time we were at a zoo.
Sad news this week, we were going to do a basketball tournament saturdau with a member and some investigators and meet people but we found out that the winner gets 10,000 baht so bit of a no go for missionaries. We still showed up for a sec tho and we got some fire jerseys so honestly worth it.
Then yesterday and today we've just been getting fire food. Last night we went over to Brother Chai's house for steak. Mmmm it was soo good. Then today after we played basketball in the morning we got some pizza and ice cream at robinsons. We got Pizza Company and Swensens so it was like american food. I did the Earthquake challenge and it was a lot of ice cream. it did taste good tho.

Spiritual thought
Helaman 5:12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.
This is a great scripture. I thought about it during zone conference and figured I'd share.
Oh and I forgot Chinese New years was the before last week. We got to do some firree finding.
Here's some photos

the ice cream is the before and after. Elder Saunders managed to finish his in 10minutes somehow🤮
