Bună Bună!!
Highlights:
-Got Sora Stark and we hit it off super fast!! We have been talking and laughing so hard all week.
-Departing day was super cool. We went with the missionaries up to a mountain near Brașov, called Bușteni. It still had like a good few inches of snow at the top so needless to say we were thoroughly soaked, but it was a good time. I was a little trunky though for the Utah mountains.
-Picking up the New Missionaries!! It was so fun!! They all seem so awesome!! We got dinner with them and showed them around București! Then the next day we picked them up and brought them for the church for interviews and they got assigned to their trainers.
-Sora Dabo and Sora Reynolds were training so we got to be together and reminisce about our time in the MTC. It was hilarious.
-Saturday was super warm, so we had games night outside!! It was super fun!
Not-So-Highlights:
-Saying goodbye to Sora Wolsey, Sora Ballard, Sora Nunez, and Sora Clement.
-Not much sleep this week. (too much craziness)
Funny:
-The new missionaries in our branch were asked to bear short testimonies and introduce themselves. It was only them and one other speaker, so we were a little worried about them filling the time. Then the first speaker gets up and starts speaking, 20 minutes pass, 30 minutes pass, 40 minutes pass, and at this point our branch president (who is right next to him translating) has asked him to wrap it up 3 times. Then the first counselor had to go up and ask him to please end as well. He gave one last scripture reference and said amen 😆 . So yeah the other missionaries didn't get a chance to speak, but it was pretty entertaining.
Gând Spiritual:
Mosiah 8:18
Thus God has provided a means that man, through faith, might work mighty miracles; therefore he becometh a great benefit to his fellow beings.
The longer I serve out here the more I realize the truth of this verse. The fact that I even have an opportunity to help those around me is all through the grace of God. I cannot do anything without him. He helps me to lift others around me, and often this is through changing me. He has not called me to serve because of who I am, but because of who he wants me to become. I know that he has shaped me into the person and missionary I am here, and I am grateful for the opportunity to continually be changed every day. I know as we submit to his will, and rely on his strength, he will help us become exactly what we need to be.
God is good. I love being a missionary. România is awesome.
