The Nutcracker & Cookie exchange

Grandma & Grandpa Hansen invited Mckayla and I to the nutcracker. Jenny & Olivia came as well. Mckayla thought it was super fun to be with her cousin, and to spend time with grandma & grandpa. She enjoyed the nutcracker, and watching all of
the ballerinas. During intermission Grandma bought Mckayla a nutcracker ornament to put on the christmas tree. It was definitely a night to remember!
We also stayed the night at G& G's house, because the next day we were having a cookie exchange with all the cousins. It was lots of fun, and lots of goodies were made to share with each other. Mckayla thoroughly enjoyed decorating Grandma's sugar cookies with the cousins. Most of all we enjoyed tasting all of the cookies. Grandma makes the best sugar cookies ever!!!!

Halloween 2010

Halloween 2010 we had a princess Cinderella, Night Fury (from How to Train a Dragon), and Spiderman.

Here is a shot of Mckayla's school parade. If the weather is nice they parade across the street to a senior living apartment complex. This is her with her class as they were headed back.
For Halloween this year we went down to Columbus to our friends house (the Zuro's) and Trick or Treated there. The kids had a blast. It was also super convenient because they gave the kids a hayride from door to door throughout the neighborhood.

Happy 7th Birthday Mckayla

I am a year and a half behind in my journaling of the happenings of our family. I am hoping to do my best of remembering of all the things that have happened. Mckayla's 7th birthday was Oct. of 2010. This birthday was extra fun, because she had the opportunity to have the class stuff animal(a monkey named"bananas") for the week of her birthday. She was to include him in her activities, and then journal and scrapbook about what her and bananas did. Here she is with bananas after she opened her first gift.
Here they are after opening all the gifts.
Here she is jumping with Banana's on the tramp.
Mckayla wanted to have dinner with the Shene's because Leah is her most favorite friend ever!! So we met up with them at Eat n Park. These are some of the gifts they gave Mckayla. They also gave her a Rapunzel Barbie.
This year she chose to have an oreo ice cream cake. Here she is with Banana's once again, he is helping her blow her candles out.
This shot was of the kids, and Banana's is on the couch. I think Mckay enjoyed a week with the class monkey. Happy 7th to my beautiful girl!!

Pics with GRANDMA RYAN!!!

Grandma Ryan always comes to visit when a child is born. It was such a fun summer to have her here. The kids were in heaven. She did crafts with the kids, and spent one on one with each kid. She watched movies with them, and even jumped on the tramp with them. Those that know her, know that, that is a huge feat, considering her health conditions. Mckayla was excited to have Grandma see her compete in her swim meets. Grandma I think was in heaven because she got to hold baby Abigail for as long as she wanted. Mom would come with me when she was feeling up to it in the morning to Mckayla's swim practice. It didn't take long before the kids had roped Grandma into swinging them on the swings.
We had fun eating out with you, going on ice cream runs, visiting, laughing, crying, and enjoying every moment with you. Thanks for all your help, and thanks for all the fun. We looked forward to your next visit.

Abigail's Blessing

Abigail Hope Hansen was given a name and a blessing on Aug. 1, 2010. It was a beautiful sunny day, and lots of family and friends to celebrate with us. We had lucked out that the day before we had a family reunion on the Hansen side, and so lots of our family that lived far away were in town, and were able to be apart of our special day.
Before Abigail was born, I felt very strongly that Hope should be a part of her name. We had toyed with making Hope the first name, but in the end we all liked Abigail, and thus Abigail Hope. After naming her we had a sunday school lesson on Abigail of the Old Testament, and we learned the significance of her, and how she represented the Savior. I never even new that an Abigail was in the Bible. After hearing this story, I realized how fitting her name really was. The Savior is truly my ultimate HOPE. His atonement is the key to everything in this life, without it there would be no hope. I have felt how special this little spirit is, and I am so proud of her beautiful name.

Here are those that stood in the circle to give her a blessing.

Some family shots!

As you can see the kids absolutely adore her. Mckayla can't wait for her to get big enough to play dress up with, unfortunately by the time Abigail gets that age, Mckalya will probably be out of the dress up stage. She is very excited to have a little sister.

Seth had just woken up from a nap, and was not about to be photogenic. He cried and put up a stink in almost every picture, this one just happens to be an ok one.

We were just finishing up with the pictures and Isaiah began crying with frustration, when I asked what was wrong, he wanted to have his own pictures with Abigail of him kissing her. He loves her so much. He is such a good big brother. I look at these pictures, and he has such a tenderness with her. We are so blessed!!
