Feeling Ugly!!
Have you ever had those days where you just feel ugly!! This week so far has been that. Most of my life I have been plagued with cold sores. Lucky me one popped out this week. I could feel it coming on, and immediately starting applying the medicine, in hopes that it would not present itself. No such luck. Not only did it come out to say hello to all the world, but a second one presented itself as well. Now I have one on the right and left side of my mouth. It almost makes me want to stay inside the house and not go anywhere. I am applying medicine on them all day, because it soothes them, and hopefully it will help them to heal faster. As you can imagine two big white blotches on either side of my mouth, someone is bound to say something. Usually the comments go as follows "it looks like you have something on the side of your mouth", or "you got some mayo in the corner of your mouth". To say the least I always feel at my ugliest when they come to visit. So here's to those ugly days!! Hipp, hipp hur-ray!!! To look on the brighter side of things, at least they only last for a week to 10 days. After that I can look like my normal self.

"I am a child of God olympics"
Saturday the primary put on the "I am a child of God olympics". Mckayla is sporting her medal of silver. The kids all won gold, but their medals were silver, due to the fact that they were edible, and were wrapped in tin foil. It was a really fun activity, and I think all the kids enjoyed themselves. The 2nd picture is featuring Mckayla participating in the Sailing event. They had to blow their balls across the water. The last picture is her team or ctr 5 class. A couple of weeks ago they made a flag for their team. They are a fun group of kids, and Mckay loves being a part of their class. Mckay also got an award for reading her scriptures, and praying every night for the last month for training for the olympics.

Princess for a day!!!
This weekend we took a trip to Ohio, where we attended Matt's little sister Natalie's wedding reception. It was such a fun weekend. We enjoyed so much visiting with family and friends. It was a quick trip, but it was well worth it. Natalie and her new husband Chris are such a fabulous couple, and look so happy together. Natalie had all her little neices be little princess's for her reception. Grandma made the dresses, and all the little girls had so much fun, prancing around like they were all the bell of the ball. Grandma painted Mckayla's finger and toe nails to match her pink ribbon on her dress. Needless to say Mckay was on cloud nine. It seemed like a blink of an eye, and we were back on the road again to go home. It was fun while it lasted, and we wish the happy couple our very best wishes!!!

Guess What, Chicken Butt!!!
To my suprise today, I was given this lovely rubber chicken at church. There is a story behind it all. I don't know if you remember back in the 90's the saying "Chicken Butt". I use to say this all the time. Whenever someone would say you know what, I would say "Chicken Butt". Anyway my friend here in my Georgia Ward is originally from Paradise, Utah( it is a little town near Logan). One of my dear friends from college is living there currently. My friend (Tami) who lives here in Georgia was going home for a visit. I told her when she went home to make sure she said Hello to my friend (Barbara). I also lived with Barbara's sister Michelle and she is a dear friend as well. As things turn out Barbara and Michelle were talking about our times together, and they remembered this fun memory about me. So they sent this rubber chicken back with my friend Tami. It was such a fun gift, that brought back a flood of memories of Utah State. Thanks for making my day!!!

Keep the Car, Buy a new Car?
That has been the question for the last couple of months. Our van lease was coming due, we have been debating what we should do. I have absolutely loved our van, it has been a hard decision. I ran into a snag about a month ago with the van. Mckayla was in a camp, and we car pooled with some of her friends. We soon discovered that trying to put three booster seats across the back row in the van was impossible( at least for the model I have). So, if we were to do any car pooling in the near future, I would have to have a different vehicle. So yesterday we finally made the decision, and we bought a new Nissan Armada. I have to say I was having a hard time getting rid of the van. I know I will love the Armada, I am just trying to get use to all of it's features. Out with the Old, and in with the New.
Happy Anniversary
Yesterday Matt and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. It seems just like yesterday that we were married, but then I look at where we have been and what we have accomplished in those seven years and realize that it was not just yesterday. We celebrated our day as more of a family day. We are so happy to have our sweet children and to be all together. We went to Monkey Joes and let the kids run around on all the inflatable equipment. They had a blast. Afterward we got a babysitter and Matt and I went to dinner.Wednesday, July 16, 2008
