Last friday I decided that this was my last chance to vote. We are moving to Ohio, and I am registered in Georgia as a voter. Matt had told me that they were doing early voting at certain locations, and gave me the info I needed to go and vote. I dropped Mckayla off at preschool, and I thought this won't take too long, I will run in and out, so it should'nt be so bad for the boys. I honestly thought there would not be that long of a line. Well, let me just start out by saying friday it rained all day. SO when I went to vote this is what I saw
So do you see this line, it goes all the way to the end of the parking lot, and did I mention it is raining. I have two small children, and I didn't even think that I would have to be outside standing in the rain. The thought never even crossed my mind. I thought there is no way I am going to vote, but then I thought this is really the only time I can vote, I am here, lets just make it work. Let me just say how stupid I felt, because I was the only one with kids. Everyone was looking at me like who in their right might would drag two small kids out on a day like this and stand in line. Now did I mention, I had no idea the line would be forever long, and never did I think I would have to stand outside. Anyway, I have to say I have the best kids ever. It took me 1 hour and 15 minutes from start to finish. My kids sat quietly in the stroller, playing with their toys, and eating their snacks. Mind you I just kept stuffing them with snacks hoping that this would keep them occupied. They did wonderful. I also have to say, that blessings from heaven were on my side as well, because it was raining pretty hard when I arrived. by the time I got out there with my kids, it was down to a small drizzle, and then it stopped completely. The moment I stepped out of the building after voting, the rain started to come down again, and it was a down pour the rest of the day. Talk about being blessed!!!

You are so good to go out and vote, and to stand in line with your children. The people in the line should have let you go in front. Maybe they would have if your kids had been bad.
your awesome - I don't know if I coulda/woulda done that! (isn't their some way to mail your vote in?) I am glad your kids were good for you - I get a babysitter to go to the post office, that line is more than I can handle with mine!
Beck, sorry I forgot your birthday this year. My palm pilot died and took my bday list down with it. :) Also, I'm so proud of you for standing in that rain to VOTE. Its important, although obnoxious in your case. Brava.
Wow! I had no idea that voting early would be busier than the actual voting day. I did an absentee ballot because you no longer have to have a reason in order to vote absentee (I figure dragging 4 kids out to vote qualifies as disabled anyway, right?) You're a trooper for doing it anyway.
Becky, You are a hero!!!
Isaiah is so sweet, he is so cute holding the umbrella!!! :)
He is so big now!
The term tender mercy comes to mind, doesn't it? It is amazing how blessed we are in all situations throughout our days! Good job on the voting front!
Where's a new post? I need to hear how life is going for my friend. :)
