Matt's grandpa died on Sunday Febuary 8, 2009. He was 92 years old. It is one of those occasions were it is bittersweet. Bitter because he is gone, and you can't see him, or talk to him, but sweet because he is back with Heavenly Father, and with his children and other family that have passed on. He lived a wonderful life. Matt and I when we were making the decision to move to Ohio, this was one of them. Matt new his grandparents were not going to be here much longer. He had said "if we stayed in Atlanta and something happened to them, I would always regret it." In November his grandparents were put into an assisted living home. We kept saying we needed to get over there and visit them, and a couple of weeks ago we did just that. The pictures above are of that visit. I am so glad we made it over there to visit and see grandpa for the last time. We are so thankful for the gospel, and for the relationships that we have here on earth, and for the knowledge that these relationships will continue on forever. We feel so blessed!

Aren't we so glad for tender mercies? I am happy that you and Matt got that time with him before he passed away. Those will be treasured pictures!!
I have you guys (as well as Matt's family) in my thoughts and prayers! I am glad you were able to see him one last time!
I'm so glad you were able to visit him before he passed away.
Last August when we were going home to visit my family my grandpa passed away totally unexpectedly on the day we were coming. It was so disappointing and I just wished I had enjoyed him more while he was here. Hopefully Matt's grandma is doing okay.
