Easter 2009

It is so hard for me to keep up with blogging. So I apologize for the late post. We had a good Easter. It was nice to be close to family again. After church we headed out to Matt's parents house and had the most fabulous meal. It was fun to hang out with family. We had a little egg hunt at there house with some of the cousins (Matthew, Molly, Marianna, Mason, Mckayla & Isaiah). Here are some photos of our Easter. At Mckayla's preschool the Easter bunny came to visit, which is fun because that means Isaiah gets to see him to. Seth was not interested this year, maybe next year!

Mischief!!

Two of Seth's favorite things are the dishwasher or the pantry. Why does it seem that this is every child's favorite place to play? At least it is with my kids. Seth managed to find his m&m's in the pantry, and began his feast. Not even a half an hour later he found his new birch or sitting spot. What do you do with a little guy with such a cute mug!! Love him to death.

Christmas all over again!!

Matt and I bought the kids a spring free trampoline for christmas. Have you ever heard of such a thing? It is really cool. Anyway since it has been below freezing we couldn't put it up yet. About a month ago we decided to put it together. It has been so fun. We find that it is a great family time activity. It is also great excercise for mom and dad. We are finding muscles that we forgot we had. Both Matt and I feel it has been a great investment.

Super Market fun!

I love the supermarket's that have the car grocery carts. It seems to make shopping a little easier, that is if they are not fighting over who gets to do what. Since Seth can't say much, Isaiah and him have a great time. Seth absolutely loves to be in the driving cart, and also loves to be with his big brother.

Utah fun! 2/25 - 3/2/2009

I was feeling somewhat homesick, and felt like I needed to have a trip home. My mom misses us so much, literally everytime I talk to her on the phone, she cries about how much she misses us. We decided to suprise my mom, and just show up at her door step. Everyone in my family new about the trip except for her. It was a really fun time. This is her reaction finding us at her door.

I think it made my mom's whole year. It was so fun!! While we were there we had the opportunity to go to the Draper Temple open house, with all of my family.

It was really fun to take my kids thru the temple, so they could see what it looks like inside, and know what takes place in the temple.

Afterwards we went to a restaraunt Asian Star. Matt and I try to hit all of our favorite places to eat, when going back to Utah, and this is one of them (the walnut shrimp, so yummy).

This is my brother and his wife Renata. This is their beautiful daughter Marianna. This was the first time I got to see her. She is such a sweetheart.

We had our vacation all planned out, so we could get the most out of our weekend fun, but our kids got sick and we ended up not doing most of the things we had planned. Mckayla had a bad head cold, and cough and did not feel well. Isaiah got the croup, and ended up in the insta-care, and Seth also had a cough, and was teething. Thanks to my sister in law, and my brother they helped salvage our vacation. We were suppose to stay one night in Logan and have dinner with some dear friends, and then go to our old ward, but with sick kids we did not want to infect all of them. My sister in-law watched our kids, so we could still meet up with our friends, and Matt's sister. We met our friends half way and ate in Layton at Tepanyaki's. SO good. Thanks Dede for letting us invade and infect your home, and thanks for babysitting so we could see our friends. It was so fun to see our friends Eric & Kelly, Jeff & Danielle, and Matt's sister Natalie & husband Chris.

On Sunday, we had a dinner with all the family, and celebrated Seth's birthday. My kids had endless fun with their cousins even though they were under the weather. Here are some shots of Seth's birthday. His cupcake had red frosting, and seriously the pictures of him in the tub, looks like he has blood all over him, but don't be alarmed it is only frosting.

We had such a good time, it was a well needed vacation, and to top it all off, Matt bought our plane tickets with our Delta points, so for four tickets we only paid $40 dollars. Now that is what I am talking about!!!

Happy Birthday SETH!!

So call me a slacker, I am so behind in posting, that now I am going to try and play catch-up. Seth hit his one year mark on February 19th. We did a few things on his birthday, but nothing monumental, and by the time we got to his cupcakes he was completely exhausted, and had to have his cupcake the next day. We didn't do anything real big, due to the fact that we had a trip planned to go to Utah a week after his b-day, and we were going to have a party there for him. Things I love about this little guy. He is the best sleeper, I love that he allows me to have a great night sleep every night, and it has been like this since he was 5 or 6 months. He is a laid back, quiet and content little guy, at least his first year was like that, he is now a little bit more specific with what he wants now that he is older and more mobile. He is a daddy's boy thru and thru. He looks like his daddy in everyway, I call him a mini-Matt. Not only does he look like his daddy, he wants to be with him whenever he is around. He prefers dad over mom - can you believe that!!! Where is the love. He truly lights up when he sees Matt walk thru the door, and can be seen crawling around after him. My hope is, is that I can train him to be an AGGIE fan amongest all the ohio state fans in our house. I am not pushing my luck though. He is such a sweet boy, we are so glad that he is a part of our family, and are so grateful Heavenly Father sent his sweet adorable self to us. WE LOVE YOU!!

Farewell to Grandpa Hansen

Matt's grandpa died on Sunday Febuary 8, 2009. He was 92 years old. It is one of those occasions were it is bittersweet. Bitter because he is gone, and you can't see him, or talk to him, but sweet because he is back with Heavenly Father, and with his children and other family that have passed on. He lived a wonderful life. Matt and I when we were making the decision to move to Ohio, this was one of them. Matt new his grandparents were not going to be here much longer. He had said "if we stayed in Atlanta and something happened to them, I would always regret it." In November his grandparents were put into an assisted living home. We kept saying we needed to get over there and visit them, and a couple of weeks ago we did just that. The pictures above are of that visit. I am so glad we made it over there to visit and see grandpa for the last time. We are so thankful for the gospel, and for the relationships that we have here on earth, and for the knowledge that these relationships will continue on forever. We feel so blessed!
